MUSIC EDUCATION

The performing arts program provides opportunities where students hone their creative skills and cultivate a sense of meaning through design, collaboration, and performance. Starting in kindergarten, students participate in music education.

The following bullets will provide an overview of what our students will know and be able to do:
  • Critical Thinking and Reflection:
Critical and creative thinking, self-expression and communication with others are central to the arts.
  • Historical and Global Connections:
Through dance, music, theatre and visual arts, students learn that beginners, amateurs and professionals benefit from working to improve and maintain skills over time.
  • Innovations, Technology and the Future:
Works in dance, music, theatre and visual arts are organized by elements and principles that guide creators, interpreters and responders.
  • Organizational Structure, Skills, Techniques and Processes:
Experiences in the arts foster understanding, acceptance and enrichment among individuals, groups and cultures from around the world and across time.
Students participate in weekly instructional activities, participate in the Christmas Cantata, and will perform in predetermined school events. Through an audition process, students in 2nd grade and above can participate in the Kingdom Academy Choir.

OUT OF SCHOOL PROGRAM

AFTER SCHOOL
In partnership with The Children’s Trust, Kingdom Academy provides a strong academic after school program designed to engage kindergarten and elementary children in high-quality, hands-on apprenticeship opportunities taught by passionate professional educators. The program is designed to support the school's academic curriculum, specifically reading and math, focusing in raising the academic achievement. Sudents will participate in academic support, organized sports, instrumental instruction, band, STEAM, and field trips.
SUMMER CAMP
Summer vacation is a long entrenched tradition for American schoolchildren and their families, but new research is showing that this practice may not be the best when it comes to helping kids get the most out of their educational experience. In fact, for some kids, a few months off in the summer can lead to major setbacks in school, including loss of knowledge and lowered test scores. Avoid this knowledge gap, Kingdom Academy has partnered with The Children’s Trust to offer a fun and education summer camp program. During the months of June, July, and August, children ages 5 to 12 have the opportunity to participate in a safe environment, under the supervision of experienced staff. The students will receive strong academic instruction in the areas of language, math, and science. In addition, through a fun thematic curriculum designed to stretch the child's imagination, they will participate in clubs, electives, organized sports, technology, and field trips.
